This is the fundraising page of Shannon and Nicole Redifer. Both of us will talk about what we like about Encore:
Shannon: Encore Stage and Studio means so much to me. I have been in 3 shows and have loved being in every single one! Before I was in Hansel and Gretel I was afraid of public speaking, but being in the play boosted my confidence. I have made so many new friends that I never would have met if I hadn't been in shows! I remember watching my first Encore show, "The Twelve Dancing Princesses," when we were in third grade and I thought that it was so cool and the actors and actresses were like "celebrities" the way that they were on stage and signed autographs. Back then, I never would have thought that I would have the chance to be on that very stage and perform in front of children much like I used to be. One reason that I act is because it brings so much joy to the people that watch our shows.
Nicole: Encore Stage and Studio is such a good experience! It helps me make new friends and improve on my acting skills, and I know many other people who have done anything with Encore would agree. The first show that I saw with Encore was also the "Twelve Dancing Princesses." I thought it was so amazing how kids my age could be so amazing at acting! After I saw that play, I decided I would try to do as many Encore workshops to help build up my acting skills so I could be in an Encore Stage and Studio production. Those workshops must have paid off because since the Fall of 2009, I have been in 5 productions with Encore.
I played the role of Jack in "Jack and the Magic Beans," the last show of this season. Thanks to those who came to the show or sent flowers to support me in my role!
There have been kids that have been watching these shows for years and years! We want these kids to be able to bring their very own kids to these shows, but we need your help! We could use your support so we can keep putting on more wonderful shows for many years to come!
