All kids need an emotional focus, and the lucky ones find it with the help of creative, caring adults and programs that build confidence, character, and long-lasting skills.  Because Encore stages five plays a year plus classes and summer programs, kids who love theatre can keep at it, get better, and immerse themselves the way other kids do in sports. It is so gratifying to see a group of kids of different ages, from the very shy to the wildly extroverted, grow and prosper with others of their 'tribe.'

I named this page "Save the Actors" because young actors need a home base, and Encore needs contributions in order to continue making its programs accessible to kids of all income levels. Unlike many children's theatres, Encore doesn't charge audition or casting fees.  Ticket prices have gone up only marginally in ten years so it's still a great value. But Encore's management and marketing are becoming more professional, and costs are rising. 

My kids have learned a lot and grown a lot through work onstage and backstage with this nonprofit organization.  Please contribute! Gifts of any size are welcome.  Your gift can help a kid find his voice.
