How are donations routed to the university?

The short answer is, however universities want them to be.  Many of our university clients request that AlumniFidelity build an API (Application Programming Interface) integration to the school's existing merchant services (credit card processing) provider.  When donations come through the school's fundraising pages that are hosted by AlumniFidelity, the donation information is encrypted and securely transmitted to the very same processor that processes the contributions that come through the school's primary donations portal.  There is no difference for back office accounting staff; your AlumniFidelity pages and your primary portal are simply like two tributaries to the same river.

Some clients also prefer that AlumniFidelity simply receive the transactions through our own secure merchant services  processor and then transfer weekly aggregate amounts to the school via electronic transfer or paper check.

Either way, AlumniFidelity provides all the data you need to understand and process the contributions.

How much staff time are we talking about?

The primary tasks of the development staff are the one-time set-up of the fundraising pages templates (just takes a few hours of choosing settings, selecting text, and plugging logos and colors into appropriate places -- and our staff walks you through it) and the ongoing encouragement of your alumni leaders to create and promote their fundraising pages.  Even during the busier seasons, the most successful clients only need to spend a few hours per week on any of this.  If you would like to speak with a current client about their use of AlumniFidelity, just let us know!

How much does AlumniFidelity cost?

As you'd probably expect, AlumniFidelity's fees vary somewhat from client to client, based on school size, level of customization required, and other factors.  In general, we prefer to charge a flat price for the software license and service and minimize transaction fees.  Ask us for a free quote or call us at 1.877.233.3534.
