Donate to Your Own Page. When asking someone to
give to a cause, it's a lot more powerful when you can show that you
have given yourself. Plus, people want to be a part of successful
campaigns and they are motivated by momentum, so the more that you can
show that you are on your way toward your goal - and that their gift
makes visible progress toward your goal - the better! |

Promote, Promote, Promote. Don't just build a
great page and "wait for the magic to happen." To effectively raise
funds, you need to actively promote your page. Use the "Promote" tab to
email to it to all the people who think would be receptive to the
message; build a bumper sticker and follow the simple steps to place it
on Facebook, other social networking sites, and blogs; and add a link
to your page to your email signature. |

Thank Supporters. The more people feel that their gifts are noticed and appreciated, the more they will realize that they are making an important difference and the more likely they will be to give again in the future. Under the "Promote" tab, select "Manage Appeals" then "Contributors," then use the check boxes and "Thank" button to send thank-you notes to your contributors. |

Copying and Pasting into Text Fields. This fundraising platform allows you to compose text in a Rich Text Editor, which means you have the ability to bold, italicize, etc. This also means that if you are copying and pasting text from other Web sites to include on your fundraising page, you'll want to first "clean" it by pasting it into Notepad or TextEdit and then from there into the Rich Text Editor. Otherwise, odd line breaks may occur. |

Personalize Your Page: The most effective pages on alumnifidelity.com are highly personalized. They tell a story with words, pictures and video that makes an impression on donors. If your prospects like you, like the cause you're describing, and can see that you have put personal effort into creating your page, they will be very likely to give. Make use of bold and italics and, most importantly, put a lot of yourself into your page, |

Ask Big. The golden rule of fundraising is, "You raise money when you ask for it." You don't raise money when you don't ask for it. You've got nothing to lose: if someone declines your request, you're where you are right now, and if they give less than you ask for, you're still better off. But you're missing out on a potential donation if you don't ask. |

Get Your Gifts Matched. When donors are completing the donation form, they can check a box to confirm that their employer matches gifts and fill in the company information. AlumniFidelity will follow up with the company and get the matching gift and notify the donor and the fundraiser, and the campaign's totals will be updated at the time that the matching donation is received. |

Facebook Inboxes. Place the link to your campaign directly into your friends' Facebook inboxes:
- In Facebook, select the "Friends" tab
- Select "Make a New List" and follow the prompts, adding up to 19 names (Facebook only lets you message 19 people at once).
- Scroll down to the bottom of the list and click "Message this list"
- Compose your message, making sure to include the link to your fundraising page in the body.
- Send! (And if you have more than 19 friends to invite, just repeat the process!)
